REGULATION 2022

After the great success of the 2021 Edition, we are happy to announce the 6th edition of the "Città di Minerbio" International Piano Competition for Young Pianists, and the 6th edition of the International Festival for Young Pianists “Città di Minerbio”, which will take place from August 30 to September 4, 2022, at the "Teatro Minerva" Minerbio (BO). The 6th edition wants to propose itself in a perspective of continuity with the previous ones, both as regards the objectives of excellence and development of talent, and for the desire to involve the territory, thanks to live events in which the candidates will be the protagonists; they will give to the competition the breath of a music festival. The Competition and the Festival are held annually and are reserved only for solo pianists, not older than twenty-six years of age (max. twenty-six years old on August 30, 2022).

• The Competition will be articulated in 4 distinct age categories (I up to 17 years of age, II up to 20 years of age, III up to 23 years of age, IV up to 26 years of age). Each category includes a preselective round, via video (to be sent from April 15, 2022, to June 15, 2022, deadline for enrollments) and two rounds live on stage (first round, second round) with obligatory repertoire.

• The Festival will be articulated in 6 categories (Cat. FIRST NOTES up to 6 years of age, Cat. JUNIOR up to 8 years of age, Cat. A up to 10 years of age, Cat. B up to 12 years of age, Cat. C up to 14 years of age, Cat. D up to 16 years of age). Each category includes a single round with obligatory repertoire. It will be possible to register from April 15, 2022, to July 31, 2022.

Prize fund: €7.500

RUNNING OF THE EVENT.

The Competition and the Festival will take place from August 30 to September 4, 2022, at the "Teatro Minerva” -  Minerbio (BO). There will be a concert and opening ceremony, day and time to be defined. All the auditions will be open to the public and regulated by the NO COVID rules.The concert calendar of the performances will be published on the website

 http://minerbiopianocompetition.it and http://www.comune.minerbio.bo.it/on August 13, 2022. During the entire period of the competition, there will be pianos made available to the competitors for studying, that can be booked at the time of the registration. During the days of the event, candidates who have given previous availability will perform in concerts in the area (membership must be given via the registration form). The event will end on Sunday September 4, day of the winners' concert. The key moments of the Competition, the rehearsals and the winners’ concert will also be visible, from the website http://minerbiopianocompetition.it, andon Facebook “Città di Minerbio International Piano Competition”. 

ENTRY FEES AND OSPITALITY.

Registration for the "International Competition for Young Pianists" can only be done online, using the format on the site from April 15, 2022, to June 15 2022. Registration for the "International Festival for Young Pianists" can only be done online, using the format on the site from April 15 to July 31 2022. Registrations may close before the deadline once the limit number of 70 enrolled participants is reached. It will be necessary to fill in the appropriate registration form on the site http://minerbiopianocompetition.it complete with all attachments.

 RECEPTION.

Candidates must register the day before or at least two hours before their category at the theater headquarters (precise details will be given by email to all members). The rehearsal timetable and the alphabetical order of the candidates will be published on the website starting August 13, 2022. All candidates are required to dress appropriately during the selections and the winners must perform at the awards concert in a concert dress.
